Senior Infants love learning through play! We have enjoyed role play, junk art, construction, and play-doh stations so far this year. We have a class full of expert puzzle and tangram-makers! Hands-on literacy and numeracy activities are also a big hit. Our teamwork skills have been top notch!
Well done to our Senior Infants for putting on a wonderful Christmas Carol Service on Thursday December 19th in the school P.E. Hall. We really enjoyed rehearsing and performing songs and poems with the other Senior Infant classes! Thanks to all the family members and friends who came to support on the day! Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas and a happy and healthy new year!
We also welcomed Jingles the Elf into our classroom this December.
We had so much fun getting dressed for Halloween! We learned about Halloween Traditions, and the best ways to stay safe at Halloween, as well as making spooky artwork and learning poems called 'Pumpkin Time' and 'Skeleton Parade'.
Our Sponsored Walk
We had such a great time on our sponsored walk to Shandon Park. We took part in a nature trail before playing in the playground with the other Senior Infant classes!
Check out our lovely Autumn artwork! We made leaf collages, using tissue paper, and have been learning lots of words associated with the season.
We are delighted that Mark from St. Brendan's GAA Club returned to help us develop our football and hurling skills in Term 1!
Our medal winners for the 100m sprint and hurdles. Well done to all the boys and girls!
We had the very exciting task of looking after five caterpillars and setting them free when they became butterflies. During this process we learned all about the life cycle of a butterfly and the children loved naming our butterflies and keeping an eye on their development each day.
Violin lessons 2018/2019
The boys and girls have been putting their heart and soul into learning the violin for the past year and it's really paying off! They can't wait for their parents to come and have a listen at the end of the year.
