The boys and girls in Ms. Ryan's Junior Infants have been very busy for the month of May, especially in Aistear. We explored the theme of travel and transport, with the role play airport being a real hit among the children. At the airport we must check in with our passports, collect our boarding passes and head through security before boarding the aeroplane. On board the plane the flight attendants are busy providing inflight services and the pilot has his work cut out avoiding turbulance. We have enjoyed a whole load of other Aistear activities including making various vehicles with playdough, pattern blocks and mobillo and we even made our own passports. The theme of transport has creeped its way into all our learning and our writing has really begun to improve.
School Tour Fun
On the 23rd of May the boys and girls visited P.J.'s playcentre in Balbriggan. What fun was had! The children spent the day in the jungle gyms and slides, playing football, dancing our hearts out at the disco and racing on the go-karts. The highlight of the day was stuffing our very own build a bears, which we held close to us for the whole day. Our new stuffed animal friends came in useful as cushions for our journey home. Such a tiring but wonderful day!
June in Junior Infants
Our Aistear theme for the month of June is 'The Beach'. The boys and girls have been having so much fun at the role play area; working at the ice-cream van, tasting the delicious flavours, working on our tans on the beach, fishing in the sea and monitoring the waves closely as lifegurds. Check out all our other Aistear activities including; pattern blocks sea creatures, creating playdough beach items, maths fishing games, small world beach area, construction of beaches with our bricks and summer themed writing.
