The First Confession
On Thursday the 12th of February 38 children from 2nd class went to St. Peter’s Church to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. Fr. Paschal was there on the night with another priest, Fr. Stephen, to hear the children’s First Confession. The choir sang beautifully under the guidance of Ms. O’ Flynn, Ms. McCann and Ms. Quinn. Mr. Ryan played the keyboard. The children were all on their best behaviour in the church and their lovely sheep were on display for all to see. Well done to everyone involved on the night. We are now looking forward to and preparing for the First Communion on May 10th.
Just before mid-term break we received a wonderful invitation from the President of Ireland, Mr. Michael D. Higgins, for our Junior Infants to visit him in Arás an Uachtaráin on Tuesday 3rd March, where they will be given a tour of the grounds and assist him in planting some trees. They are very excited about the visit and are currently learning all about trees and how they grow and change over time in preparation for the trip!
