Glasnevin Cemetery Writing Competition

26th Jun 2024
A lot of the 6th class children entered the inaugural 'Shane Mac Thomáis Essay Prize' writing competition in Glasnevin Cemetery.   The children had to explore the story of Dublin's past, stories of those who shaped the nation's history. The children wrote about the lives of James Joyce, Rosie Hackett, John Field, Roger Casement and Mary Robinson to name but a few.   The standard of entries was extremely high and in 6th class, 5 students finished in the top 15 which is an amazing achievement. We were invited to Glasnevin Cemetery Museum for the presentation which we thoroughly enjoyed.   Congratulations to all those who entered the competition.
